Winter Themed Lesson Plan
Snowman Themed Lesson Plan!
**A fun session you can use this winter season!**
Activity #1: Read the story "Snowball Soup" by Mercer Mayer. Pair the story with play-props and make your own snowball soup along with the story. Emphasize s-blends throughout the story and practice "snowball" each time you place it in your soup. Use the "spoon" to "stir".
Activity #2: Use magnet pieces, paper pieces or felt pieces to create your own snowman! In the book, the characters build a snowman - now it's your turn! Practice the spatial concept "on" each time you place a piece on the snowman. Practice s-blends as you build your snowman (e.g., "stick", "scarf", "snowman", "sweater", "smile").
Activity #3: Go on a search in a Snowman Sensory Bin! Hide winter themed mini objects inside your sensory bin to practice themed vocabulary or describing as you find the objects hidden inside!
